Our AML and Verification Commitment

We operate Wazamba Casino under licence 8048/JAZ2019-038 issued by the Government of Curaçao, and that licence binds us to strict anti-money-laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism-financing obligations. This page explains, in plain English, how those obligations affect you: when we verify your identity, what documents we ask for, how we monitor transactions and what happens if verification is not completed.

Our AML Policy and Licence

Why the rules apply to you

Wazamba Casino is owned and operated by Rabidi N.V. and licensed in Curaçao under licence number 8048/JAZ2019-038. That licence requires us to maintain a full AML and counter-terrorism-financing program, including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious-activity reporting and staff training. We take these duties seriously: they protect you, protect us and keep criminal money out of the gambling system.

For you as a player this means verification is not optional and not a sign of suspicion. It is a legal requirement we must apply to every customer, including Australian players who deposit and withdraw in AUD.

When We Verify Your Identity

Verification triggers

We verify every player, but the depth of checks depends on what you do on our platform. Basic identity checks occur at registration; full document verification is required before your first withdrawal, and again at certain activity thresholds or when something about your account changes.

  • Registration: we confirm your name, date of birth, address and contact details, and screen them against sanctions and politically-exposed-person (PEP) lists.
  • First withdrawal: we require full KYC documentation before releasing any withdrawal.
  • Cumulative deposits of A$2,000 or more: enhanced due diligence may be triggered.
  • Any change to your registered payment methods, address or personal details.
  • Any transaction or behaviour pattern that our monitoring systems flag for review.

Documents we accept

The documents we request fall into three categories: proof of identity, proof of address and proof of payment-method ownership. We only accept valid, legible, unexpired documents where all four corners are visible and nothing is covered or cropped.

  • Photo ID: passport, national identity card or driver's licence.
  • Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or government letter issued within the last 3 months showing your name and address.
  • Payment method: photo of the card (first 6 and last 4 digits visible, middle digits and CVV covered) or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name or account details.
  • Source of funds documents, where applicable (see the section below).

How Verification Works, Step by Step

Five steps, usually under 24 hours

We have deliberately kept the process short. Most reviews are finished within 24 hours of receiving clear documents, and we will contact you by email or live chat if anything needs clarifying.

  • 1. We email you a verification request, or you upload documents yourself from your account profile.
  • 2. You photograph or scan each document, ensuring all details and edges are visible.
  • 3. Our compliance team reviews the documents and runs database and sanctions screening.
  • 4. If anything fails or is unclear, we contact you with specific instructions; no automatic rejection occurs without an explanation.
  • 5. We confirm the outcome in writing, after which your withdrawal is released to processing.

How your documents are protected

Documents are uploaded through an encrypted connection and stored on access-restricted servers. Only authorised compliance staff can view them, each access is logged, and we never share your verification data with third parties except where the law of our licence jurisdiction requires it.

When We Ask for Source of Funds

It is routine, not an accusation

For larger or unusual levels of activity, our licence obliges us to confirm that the money you play with comes from a legitimate source. We may request source-of-funds evidence when your deposits reach a cumulative threshold, when a single deposit is well above your usual pattern, or when monitoring flags a change in behaviour.

Acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, a tax return or assessment notice, bank statements showing regular income, a letter from an accountant, or sale documentation for an asset such as property or shares. We set the threshold for these requests based on risk, not on a fixed public figure, because setting a public floor would defeat the purpose of the check.

How We Monitor Transactions

Deposits, withdrawals and limits

Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes through automated and manual checks. We look for structuring (splitting amounts to stay under thresholds), rapid deposit-withdrawal cycling with little gameplay, third-party payments and other indicators defined in our AML program. Withdrawals are paid back to the same method you used to deposit wherever technically possible; if that is not possible, we pay by bank transfer to an account in your own name.

Our standard limits are a minimum deposit of A$30, a minimum withdrawal of A$30, and maximum withdrawals of A$5,000 per week and A$20,000 per month. Withdrawals are pending for up to 24 hours before processing; e-wallets then arrive within 0 to 24 hours, cards within 1 to 3 days and bank transfers within 3 to 5 days. We charge no fees on either deposits or withdrawals.

Funding from your own accounts only

You must deposit only from accounts, cards, wallets and crypto addresses that belong to you. Deposits made from a third party's payment method are returned to the source and may lead to account suspension under our terms.

If Verification Fails or Stops

What we do, in order

We never freeze an account without telling you why. Where verification is incomplete or a document fails our checks, we follow a clear escalation path, and you always have the chance to fix the issue.

  • Withdrawals are held until verification is complete; deposits and gameplay may continue in the short term.
  • If documents are missing or rejected, we contact you with specific reasons and a deadline to resubmit (typically 14 days).
  • If the deadline passes without a response, we suspend the account for transactions.
  • If documents appear forged or identity fraud is suspected, we must close the account and may be legally obliged to report the matter to the authorities in our licence jurisdiction.
  • Funds in a suspended account remain yours and are returned, less any outstanding bonus wagering, once identity is confirmed to our satisfaction.

How Long We Keep Your Records

Five years, by law

Our licence requires us to retain identity documents, verification records and transaction histories for a minimum of five years after the end of our business relationship with you. Retention allows us to answer regulator enquiries and assist law-enforcement investigations if ever required. After the retention period expires, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your records, except where local law requires us to keep them longer. If you would like a copy of the personal data we hold, contact us at [email protected], available 24/7.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to complete verification before I can deposit?

No. You can register and deposit after basic identity checks. Full document verification is required before your first withdrawal or when your activity reaches certain thresholds.

How long does Wazamba Casino verification take?

Most verification reviews are completed within 24 hours of receiving clear documents. Complex cases, such as source-of-funds requests, can take longer, and we keep you informed throughout.

Why do I have to withdraw to the same method I deposited with?

Our AML obligations require withdrawals to return to a payment method in your own name. This prevents third-party payouts and money laundering. Where a method cannot receive withdrawals, we pay by bank transfer to an account in your name.

What happens if I refuse to provide source-of-funds documents?

Withdrawals remain blocked and, if the refusal continues past the deadline we give you, the account is suspended for transactions. Your confirmed balance is still returned once identity is verified.

Are my ID documents safe with you?

Yes. Documents are transmitted over an encrypted connection, stored on access-restricted servers, viewable only by authorised compliance staff with logged access, and retained for five years as required by our Curaçao licence before secure deletion.
